Order Issues & Refunds

Blue Unicorn does not accept returns, as our products are perishable food items. If you believe there is an issue with your order, please contact us within 15 days of delivery with your order number and a description of the problem. We may request photos or additional information to verify the issue before determining next steps.

Any resolution — including replacement or store credit — is issued at Blue Unicorn's sole discretion. As our products are perishable and may not survive the return journey, resolutions will not take the form of a physical return. Shipping costs are non-refundable.

Chocolate Protection Packaging Program

What is Chocolate Protection Packaging?

Definition

Chocolate Protection Packaging (CPP) is a protective shipping upgrade Blue Unicorn may add to your order when weather conditions indicate a risk of melting in transit. CPP includes thermal insulation lining, ice pack(s), and where applicable, upgraded shipping to minimize transit time. Specific contents may vary by order size and conditions.

One-time orders

  • ◆  At checkout, and based on season, we check your shipping ZIP code against real-time weather forecasts and estimated transit times.
  • ◆  If conditions warrant, the CPP fee will be presented for addition to your order on the cart page, along with a summary of this Hot Weather Shipping Policy.
  • ◆  By checking the consent box at checkout, you authorize the CPP charge and confirm that you will retrieve your package promptly upon delivery.

Subscription orders

  • ◆  By subscribing, you agree that Blue Unicorn may automatically add Chocolate Protection Packaging and the associated fee to shipments when weather conditions indicate a melting risk, as determined by Blue Unicorn.
  • ◆  You will receive an email notification prior to each subscription order being processed, indicating whether CPP has been added.
  • ◆  The decision to add CPP is made at Blue Unicorn's sole discretion based on weather data and transit conditions.

Important notes

  • ◆  If your order was shipped with CPP and arrives with heat damage, please contact us promptly with photos of the product and packaging. Blue Unicorn will review the claim and may, at its sole discretion, issue a replacement or store credit. Cash refunds are not available for melt claims.
  • ◆  It is your responsibility to retrieve your package promptly upon delivery, particularly during warm weather. Blue Unicorn is not responsible for product quality issues resulting from packages left unattended after delivery.
